A GREAT SUMMERTIME


Since it has started, 2009 was tagged a black year if we can say so, and this is how it is going on so far in almost all the sectors. It is a reality that we must admit, but without exaggerating in pessimism as the crisis is no doubt transitory, exactly as was the remarkable growth that preceded it in the last five years.

In COLLECTION, this reality has motivated us to better support our partners the advertisers and to improve our role as a link between the brand and the consumer, the manufacturer and the retailer, and the companies themselves. More than ever our correspondents are in search for the newest and the boldest of the luxury products. Lately our representatives have visited several countries of the most influential to find out more about how the industry will face the hard times. The lectures in all the international events showed determination to work, work, and work. Some of the experts went to discuss a new consumer and to call for new ways to approach him, either through readapted marketing strategies, or renovating the item itself. Hong Kong has stressed on innovation in ideas and designs, Vicenza has initiated a fresh plan to approach the Middle East market, which was concretized with the set up of the Pan-Arab Hall during Charm 2009, and Basel has called for a comeback to the true values, as weapons to defy the current crisis.
